Furne One /// Good & Evil collection showcased at STYLE FASHION WEEK LA // #StylePR
The “Circus of GOOD & EVIL” collection by internationally renown designer Furne Amato - was the perfect amount of EVIL. Because this season Los Angeles Fashion Week (LAFW) killed it!
This season Style Fashion Week LA moved it’s runway to L.A. Live - which is whispered to be the West Coast’s take on Times Square. The fashion shows were held in a large white tent planted on a roof opening up to the L.A. Live Plaza and Downtown LA skyscrapers.
For the past couple of seasons it’s been Furne One who has been stealing the finale show spot - and once you see a few of the photo’s below - you’ll know why. During a Furne One show - he demands your attention! We could hear the jaws dropping as the really loud church bells rang during the theatrical presentation.
(que’s church bell, lol)

The imaginative Z Boyz (Zalez Studio designers) - - - - - showcased their Spring Summer 2014 collection this Los Angeles Fashion Week (LAFW) 2013.
After Zalez’s last Fall collection — we were anxious to see what the seasonal change would bring to Zalez ——> it was intricate prints and oceanic blue vinyls on the catwalk; really keeping that Z signature alive.
ASHTON MICHAEL Shuts down street in Hollywood in front of AM Atelier **** Presents BLACK CROSS SS14 Collection
Ashton Michael who we interviewed not that long ago here on TFB »> graced LA with an electrifying show in the heart of Hollywood by closing down the street in front of the AM Atelier this #LAFW 2013. Designer for the stars — AM SS14 show was star-studded with appearances by Adam Lambert, Miguel, and ANTM cast members.
LA native Ashton has been designing for the stars here in Hollywood and I’m sure you’ve seen his chic wear in numerous music videos. A big buzz at his last show for NYFW »> but us LA folks were grateful for him to bring the Black Cross collection to the streets of Hollywood (literally) in front the the First Baptist Church at dusk.
Last weekend at TENTEN’s award winning rooftop - models, talent agencies, designers, and aspiring models gathered at one of Downtown LA’s finest loft estates rooftop at the 1010 Wilshire. Here we watched a easy-going fashion show, networked, got a free touch ups by The Model Experience, all while enjoying a few free cocktails and music under the Los Angeles skyline sunset.
OMEGA COLLEKTIV Fashion Show @ Museum of Digital Art
Unconventional style by Costume Designer Ernie Omega hit the streets of Hollywood this past weekend at new Museum of Digital Art creative space. Nothing like a little underground fashion! The biggest trend hitter we saw was the oversized sequence… - TFB
Numbers Make Cents Summer Release Party at Ham & Eggs Tavern #dtla #streetwear
In Downtown Los Angeles - new streetwear brand Numbers Make Cents has really been making sense to the new dtla retail shopper. We see the popular logo on neon signs of store fronts and cyclist delivery boys racing through dtla reppin the brand. Believe it or not - this brand has girls rockin the snap backs and tanks too and are priding themselves as a brand for all.
Last week at the recently renovated Ham & Eggs Tavern (8th/Olive) that used to be a mom & pop Chinese (if not mistaken) lunch spot for the local businesses. Now a hipsterish pub where $5 glasses of beer and wide variety of wine now fill the menu.
It made cents for the brand to celebrate their new SS product at this spot - PBR’s in fists and music filled the second room with music of all genre’s; i recall dancing to a bit of merengue haha!
With Memorial weekend right around the corner, that only means one thing.. Summer is here!
With pool parties, BBQ’s, and hot nights out there are so many styles for your hair to keep you looking and feeling cool!
No matter what the occasion one thing that will be a sure hit is free, natural, hippie hair. During the summer we want something easy and hassle free. Whether your hair is wavy, kinky, or straight. Creating or embracing texture is what summer is all about. Let your hair be free, it’s on summer vacation! The great thing about these styles is they are office appropriate as well. Here are some easy options for any hair type—
For those day old curls… Braid in some colored yarn!
Add two loose waves framing your face on natural air dried hair. With a hat this gives the illusion of beachy waves with out all the fuss.
This look can go from pool to party.. Let your natural texture be, sweep softly back and twist into little buns and add a serum to control frizz.
For this chic messy look, create a half pony, by not fully pulling the ponytail all the way through. Randomly pull out pieces to create a fallen ponytail. A new take on half up half down.
The best of both. Wet and dry. Messy matte hair combined with smooth glossy sides creates a dimensional look for both day and night.
Braids coming from your pony or plated to your head are always a staple summer style. For a more undone look pull pieces out to frame your face.
"I was inspired by a dead white rose and wanted to tell a dark romantic story through the clothes. A beautiful flourishing rose that turned into a dead yellow off-white color with a rippled texture that is so delicate. I kept the rose lying around my apartment for inspiration & it ended up becoming the inspiration for my first-ever collection. I’ve always had a eye for the darker side of fashion & felt this collection mood would express my vision truly.
The main fabrics were a light-weight georgette that is a antique-white color which I layered and lined in some pieces to give a more luxurious & ready-to-wear feel with alligator leather trim & accents. Then transitioned into the black flower lace dresses, men’s RTW denim (with spandex), alligator leather, and gold diamond button finishing’s.
Overall a vision of romance, darkness, edge, new silhouettes, creative appliques and finishing’s.”
Young Los Angeles based designer Bryan Hearns showcased a well put together collection this past season at Style Fashion Week. With skillful construction, use of industrial materials (nails & screws), and a fresh sense of style this collection has once again proved Bryan is a true visionaire.

Michael Cinco FA/WI '13 fashion show + backstage access
The Michael Cinco show by Los Angeles based Style PR presented at STYLE FASHION WEEK LA was phenominal. The most anticipated designer Michael Cinco was the finale show this season and he didn’t let us down.
Internationally famed Dubai-based Filipino designer Michael Cinco studied at SLIMS fashion & art school in the Philippines and Central Saint Martins before setting up shop in Dubai (2003) where he established Michael Cinco Haute Couture. Having worked with Tyra Banks, Naomi Campbell and Sofia Vagara to name a few, his very well-known couture gowns continue to exude something exotic yet so soft and beautiful.
"Z DIMENSION" FA/WI '13 Collection by ZALEZ STUDIO
“We wanted to take our audience into the parallel universe that is ‘Z DIMENSION’ we were inspired by parallel universes and sixties movies involving time warp.”
- Zalez Boys
ZALEZ Studio presented another electrifying collection. It is always such a nice experience attending one of ZALEZ fashion shows - an intimate artistic ambiance it was inside a small loft just east of Downtown Los Angeles. Striking gowns, Zebra print fur coats, cutting edge silhouettes and computer recycled jewelry by Kelly Love summarizes the collection. The intriguing models creeped along the runway displaying one of Los Angeles’s designers to watch out for.
HOLLYWOOD DOLL Children's fashion show with opening performance by former PUSSYCAT DOLL Kaya Jones
The Hollywood Doll KAYA JONES performed and presented her children’s FA/WI ‘13 collection. The girls were glammed out in pink tootoo’s & polka dots carrying their huge lollipops. The show was fun and playful wrapped around a Charlie and the Chocolate Factory theme.
The Quynh Paris Fall/Winter 2013 collection was all about symmetry - from asymmetrical necklines to a one-legged bodysuit. The color story was just as easy on the eye with three main groups: Neutrals (tan, rose, and off-whites), orange monochromatic color scheme, and complementary colors black/white.
The Ready To Wear collection was overall sleek with more of a modern casual twist. These pieces can easily be taken from day to night revealing an attractive amount of skin.
Councilwoman Jan Perry who is currently representing the 9th district of the Los Angeles City Council & running for Mayor in 2013 was there to present the designers with their certificates along with Brigade LA owner Kuo Yang for LA Boutique of the year. Also there to enjoy the event was Alicia Hardesty from Project Runway Season 10 who got to fill us in a bit about her collection Original Tomboy.
TFB & The Model Experience recognize four of Los Angeles’s designers in the “Designers of Tomorrow” fashion installation - Rik Villa, Bryan Hearns, Zalez Studio, & Alyssa Norman are their names and it’s their looks you will see. Before the installation we put the designers in front of the camera for an editorial photo shoot and a sit down having the chance to know the creative’s on a more personal level.
